Wai Yim will reprise his role as Leonardo in Mary Zimmerman’s THE NOTEBOOKS OF LEONARDO DA VINCI at Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC. The Goodman Theatre production received a Jeff nomination for Best Ensemble – Play. The DC production runs from September 29 through October 23. Learn more here.

A production of Alica Daine Benning‘s new full-length play, WOO GIRLS! premiered at the Factory Theater in Rogers Park over the last weekend in August. It was Alica’s first production in Chicago since graduating from Northwestern’s MFA Writing for Screen & Stage program in June. Karissa Murrell Myers‘ play, HOW TO MURDER THE SUPER SCARY PREDATORY HIGH INTEREST STUDENT LOANS THAT HAVE SADDLED AN ENTIRE GENERATION WITH SO MUCH DEBT NO ONE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO BUY A HOUSE OR HAVE KIDS; OR, WHY CAN’T YOU JUST STOP BUYING AVOCADO TOAST? will be produced as a workshop through Bramble Theatre Company this coming fall after being chosen for development during Bramble’s Festival of Unfinished Work in May 2022 by a voting audience. The workshop will culminate in a public pay-what-you-can reading on October 10th at 7 PM at The Edge Theatre in Chicago. Click here for more details.
David Lipschutz‘s play, AHAVAH (co-written with fellow Playground-Chicago member Dana Hall), will be performed this month with the Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays in Ontario, Canada, on September 9, 2022, and with the Virginia ARTfactory in Manassas, Virginia, September 22-24, 2022.
