2024-25 PRODUCING FELLOWSHIPS

PlayGround is excited to announce immediate openings to join the 2024-2025 Producing Fellowship, designed to foster the next generation of leadership for the American Theatre. We are looking for individuals passionate about theatre and looking to make an impact on the field while developing the skill set to do so for a living. Candidates must reside in one of the four PlayGround regions (LA, SF, NY, or Chicago). Eight (8) fellows will be selected with two (2) drawn from each of the four (4) PlayGround regions. Particularly, in filling these roles, we will give weight and priority to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled applicants with the hope of employing diverse voices who can continue to hone their producing skills in a collaborative environment. Applications are due by 11:59pm on May 31, 2024, with a target start date of August 1, 2024, running through July 31, 2025.  Interviews with select candidates will be conducted in June. Applications must be submitted through this Google Form.

DIRECTORS

Chicago-based directors interested in being considered for the Monday Night PlayGround series can submit a resume, brief cover letter and optional link to a performance or staged reading representing their directing style using the link below. BIPOC, trans/gender non-conforming, Deaf/Hoh, Disabled, Neurodiverse and actors of all ages encouraged.

ACTORS

2023 general online auditions will take place on Sunday, August 27, 11am-2pm CDT. PlayGround-Chicago invites Chicago-based actors (union or non-union) to sign up for online auditions and submit headshots, resumes for consideration in our monthly Monday Night PlayGround series. BIPOC, trans/gender non-conforming, Deaf/Hoh, Disabled, Neurodiverse and actors of all ages encouraged.  Online submissions are also accepted and reviewed year-round.

BOX OFFICE STAFF

PlayGround-Chicago is looking for part-time volunteer Box Office Staff to run in-person box office and front-of-house for PlayGround-Chicago’s once-a-month activity at Theater Wit. $50 volunteer per diem per 3-hour shift. Submit cover letter via email to jobsearch@playground-ch.org.

STAGE MANAGERS

PlayGround-Chicago has openings for stage managers (non-Equity, part-time volunteer with per diem) for the monthly Monday Night PlayGround series (first Mondays, November-April) and Best of PlayGround-NY Gala (first Monday in May). $75 volunteer per diem per 4-hour shift. INTERNSHIPS

PlayGround-Chicago, a leading playwright incubator and producer of the Monday Night PlayGround series at Theater Wi, provides unpaid internships in the areas of marketing, public relations, development, producing, and literary management. Internships are personalized to meet the individual’s and organization’s needs and are generally 4 hours per week for 10 weeks online via Zoom.
