See what PlayGround-Chicago Writers and Company Members are up to this February!

There’s no party like a PlayGround party and the proof is in the pudding! One of of our PlayGround-Chicago directors, Joel Willison, is co-producing Freshly Brewed, The Understudy’s new monthly New Play Reading series. The February play will be Crush(ed) by PlayGround-Chicago’s Casting Associate and Writers Pool member Maria Arreola and directed by former Directing Apprentice, Karina Patel.

Joel Willison is also Dramaturging for Theatre L’acadie’s Big Time Toppers, a new work for their In Bloom series. Big Time Toppers is performing at Facility Theatre on February 11th.

Carmia Imani is understudying Ava in brother sister cyborg space at Raven Theatre. brother sister cyborg space explores political divisions within families, an expanding definition of humanity, and what we’ll do when time runs out. The show runs February 8th – March 17th. Tickets are available here.

Toby Inoue’s short play, Fresh Starts will be performed at One Night Stand Theater in an evening of romance, comedy and catastrophe in “One Night Stand’s Date Night” on Sunday, February 18, 7:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre in Aurora. In Fresh Starts, a blind date at the zoo gets off to a rough start. Tickets are available here.

Juliana Liscio is playing Margot in The Diary of Anne Frank at The Young People’s Theatre of Chicago. Tickets are available here.

Adelina Marinello’s play, Happy Hour will be featured in Malarkey’s Funny Business 10-Minute Play Festival at iO Theatre! Sunday, February 18th at 8pm (iO Theatre – 1501 N Kingsbury St, Chicago, IL 60642)
