Check out Token Theatre’s first full production, ever – at A Red Orchid Theatre! As a member of Token, Alka Nayyar is so proud to have helped put this together over the last several years. The show had a fabulous opening on 6/23. Alka invites all to go see ZAC EFRON, a timely, touching and hilarious story by David Rhee and Wai Tim about 2 “GAysians” looking for love in a world that sets Zac Efron as the standard of beauty and worthiness. Karissa Murrell Myers‘ play BLACK BEAR ISLAND will be performed at The Road Theatre Company’s Summer Playwrights Festival on July 13, 2024. Tickets available here.
Brooke-Erin Smith will be appearing in St. Croix Festival Theatre’s production of Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus through July 7th! Located in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, about an hour outside of Minneapolis, SCFT is the artistic and social hub for professional theatre and the arts for the extended Central St. Croix Valley. Tickets available here. While in the area, Brooke will also direct their staged reading of Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves, running from July 11th-July 14th.
Skylar Frishman is still on their third national tour with Bright Star Touring Theatre and has been having a great time! At the time of writing this they have performed about 30 shows in a month, with many many more to come! Check it out!
William C. Thompson will be once again working with The Chicago Radio Players, in association with Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, present The Golden Age of Radio! On July 14, the Chicago Radio Players will be performing two radio classics: “Call Northside 777” and “My Favorite Husband.” Directed and performed by Chicago SAG-AFTRA members, you won’t want to miss the exciting and engaging performances! The shows will be held in the Chicago Cultural Center’s Claudia Cassidy Theater, 77 E. Randolph St., and admission is free. Katherine Swan‘s play SOME OTHER WOMAN LIKE ME has been selected as a finalist for The Road Theatre’s Summer Playwright Festival and will be performed at the festival in Los Angeles in July. Hope to see you there!
