Lani T. Montreal has been nominated as Best Playwright and her play, PANTHER IN THE SKY, as Best New Play in the Reader’s 2024 Best of Chicago Awards. Wesley David of Buzz Center Stage writes, “Montreal masterfully weaves a tapestry of grief, resilience, and redemption through the intertwined narratives of four culturally diverse mothers who have lost their teenage sons to the relentless grip of gun violence on the streets of Chicago.” Meanwhile, Tristan Bruns of New City notes how, “The play uses its brief seventy-minute runtime with absolute efficiency, each scene serving as both insight into the characters and as an education on the current state of society.” Please vote for Lani and her play!

Jay Rehak‘s comedic play, DR. J’S MAGIC SPRAY, was selected to be performed at the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre’s 5th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival in January 2025. Nightly performances of the festival plays will be on January 17th-19th and 24th-26th. Learn more here.
