See what PlayGround-Chicago Writers and Company Members are up to this June!

Dakota Pariset is self producing “The Survivalist” by Robert Schenkkan as part of Curious Theatre Branch’s Rhino Fest 2023. Performances are at Color Club (4146 N Elston Ave) in Chicago, and will be Saturday June 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 1:00pm. Tickets and information available here.

Primarily working as an actor, Carina Lastimosa is making her debut as a costume designer for The Plagiarists’s world premiere of Alexander Utz’s ‘Arabia, Arabia!’ The show opens on June 15 and runs through July 2. Tickets and info available here.

Spencer Ryan Diedrick, a brand-new Company Member of PlayGround-Chicago, will be directing “Once” at GhostLight Theatre this summer! Located in beautiful Benton Harbor, MI, the production runs August 10th through the 20th. Tickets and info available here.

Sheri Flanders will be performing stand-up and musical comedy in the 4th Annual Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest in New York City, June 14-18th. Tickets are available here.

Rammel Chan is co-starring in Matthew C. Yee’s world premiere Lucy and Charlie’s Honeymoon, a new musical play at Lookingglass Theater Company. Featuring original country western and folk songs and directed by Amanda Dehnert. Performances from May 24 through July 16. Tickets available here.

Karissa Murrell Myers‘ play BLACK BEAR ISLAND will be presented as a staged reading with Avalanche Theatre’s Next Draft Series. Performances on June 23 and 25. BLACK BEAR ISLAND is a gothic magical-realism suspense thriller that explores regret, the unreliableness of our own memories, and the paths we choose to become who we are.

Sarah Bowden’s solo show My Beautiful Game will be performed as part of Chicago’s Rhinofest this June. The show highlights Sarah’s love of soccer and the Women’s National Team, as well as dives into her most ridiculous moments playing the game from kindergarten through high school. Performances will take place at Labyrinth Arts, 4477 N Elston Ave, at 7:00 pm on 6/8, 6/15, and 6/22. Tickets available here.

A scene from Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend‘s play, “Abort: The Mission,” will be featured in Bramble Theatre Company’s Festival of Unfinished Works in late June at The Edge Theatre Black Box (1133 W Catalpa). For information, click here.
