Emma Rund’s play, Personal Library, will have a staged reading with Ego Death Theatre Collective on April 19, 20, and 21. Another of Emma’s plays, Endlessly Failing to Save the World, about Katelyn Kariko, PhD, the woman behind the COVID-19 vaccine, will be part of the Athena Projects Read & Rant series on April 15th. Spencer Ryan Diedrick opens Lauren Yee’s play The Hatmaker’s Wife, presented by Theatre EVOLVE! This magical dramedy involves queer romance, Yiddish humor, flashbacks within flashbacks, and a talking Wall. It has it all! Performances run April 11-May 4 at Raven Theatre. Tickets available here.

Juliet Kang Huneke’s play Echo’s Inferno will have a reading at The Understudy on 4/15 at 7:30. t’s 1884, and Echo really doesn’t get along with her brothers. Or anyone. Then, the devil offers her a chance to skip forward and start over. Will she take it? Will it matter? With biting humor and irreverent logic, ECHO’S INFERNO explores girlhood, rage, ambition, and connection. More info here.

Tanuja Devi Jagernauth is one of Free Street Theater’s new artists-in-residence, part of their three-year In/House capacity building program. Free Street’s In/House program is designed to incubate new projects that might not otherwise find a home in Chicago theater. It culminates in a performance or major project at Free Street Theater. Tanuja’s piece in development will premier in Winter of 2025. More info here.
