Karissa Murrell Myers’ play, BLACK BEAR ISLAND will be featured at Renaissance Theaterworks’ Br!nk Festival on May 18, 2024.  Additionally, her short play SEARCH FOR AN ENDING will be performed at City Theatre’s Summer Shorts: Flipping the Script in Miami. Gabriella Bonamici’s staged reading of a new play, ‘What We Built’, will be presented by Pegasus Theatre at Chicago Dramatists – Directed by PlayGround Associate Producer Leanna Oliveira. Taking place 5/13 at 7PM. Tickets available here.

Vivian Delgadillo’s latest recording is an otherworldly celebration of the human experience. Witchi Tai To blends live instrumentation with electronic production and honors pow wow culture with a modern interpretation of the peyote chant “Witchi Tai To”. Listen to the song here.

Eileen Dixon was recently promoted by the Redtwist Board to be the Co-Artistic Director of Redtwist Theatre, after being in an interim position since 2023. Redtwist is currently undergoing a big renovation funded by a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development, and a grand re-opening will take place in late June. Eileen recently cast Redtwist’s upcoming production of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart and is looking forward to producing and directing for Redtwist’s first annual Twisted PlayFest. Eileen could not be more excited to join Playground-Chicago’s company of artists and share in the love and celebration of new works!

Dana Hall will be playing Gerda in The Hollow, one of Agatha Christie’s most cherished works, celebrated for its clever plot twists, intricate character development, and the signature suspense that has solidified Christie’s legacy in literature. The play is set to enthrall audiences with its dynamic blend of mystery, drama, and a touch of humor. The performances will take place at Palos Park Recreation Center, 8901 123rd Street Palos Park on 4/26, 4/27, 5/3, and 5/4 at 7:30 pm and on 4/28 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are available here.

Toby Inoue’s play Keep It Light will be read and discussed at The Bechdel Group’s 2024 Winter/Spring Workshop Series on Monday May 6 @ 6:30-9:00pm – www.TheBechdelGroup.com

Adelina Marinello will be playing Thomasina in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia at Northwestern University. Performances are the evenings of May 23rd-26th. (Directed by Lila Marooney)!

J.S. Puller was recently awarded a Division H Outstanding Publication Award from the American Educational Research Alliance, in recognition of her work on a new web series, GO FIGURE. More info here.
