RJ Silva will be a storyteller for the upcoming 2nd Story show Under the Skin on Sunday, October 23rd at the Haymarket Pub & Brewery. Tickets for in-person, free streaming, and Stream Later are available here. 2nd Story produces shows in the Chicago area that elevate the storyteller’s words to deliver a unique, live, literary/theatrical experience unlike any other in the city.

Tanuja Devi Jagernauth‘s new play-in-development, The Chakora and the Churile, was read on Saturday, September 24th, as part of Lifeline Theater‘s Adapting to Stage Developmental Workshop & Showcase.

David Lipschutz (he/him) has two plays – A DATE WITH DAGON (co-written with Dana Hall) and THE [C]HAN[N]UK[K]A[H] PLAY – premiering with Westchester Civic Theatre on October 21-22, 2022.

Edward M. Pinkowski is starting his seventh season as Chair of the Playwright’s Workshop at the Theatre of Western Springs (IL) and his sixth year as Lead Drama Editor for Clockhouse, an national literary journal (VT). He is also very honored and excited to be a part of PlayGround-Chicago’s inaugural run!

John N. Frank has been cast to play Einstein in an upcoming stage reading of Einstein’s Compass by B.J. Mohr, produced by the Royal James Theater of Chicago. The reading will take place Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Merion Hotel in Evanston. Einstein’s Compass delves into the mind of the man who revolutionized science at the beginning of the twentieth century, the opposition he faced, the way in which Germany’s anti-Semitism transformed his view of his Jewish heritage, and his relationship to God.

Matt Schutz will be producing the Gay! Ghost! Play! Fest! at Eli Tea Bar in Andersonville during October. His play, Salt Fire, will feature as a reading on Friday, October 21st at 7:30. There is no admission fee, but the room fills up fast!

Ada Cheng‘s ten-minute play Confrontation is part of the ten-minute play festival Playbytes by Playwrights: Things That Go Bump in the Night, produced by LowellArts in Lowell, Michigan. This festival will be taking place from October 21-30.

Rammel Chan will be performing in Tiger Style! by Mike Lew at Writers Theatre through Oct. 30th.

Two of Taylor Mercado Owen’s plays, “this is fine.” & “SHOCKORAMA: a double feature” will be presented in an evening of staged readings at the Jackson Junge Gallery in on October 22nd. The plays are directed by Owen and will play himself in “this is fine.”
